Yes! The interview went very well in fact. Up until the point I told Kelly I smoked. That did not work so well. He took the fact that I smoke, to be a telling personality trait. I do drugs. I shoot heroine. I like to climb on buildings andcurse our president. My smoking is the least of his worries.
Wait, no. I do NONE of those things. Well, except I do smoke, but it is not something I am proud of.
Read on for a bit more of my interview experience.
My impression of Kelly’s response is that he had some bad experiences with previous employees that smoked, meaning they did some or all of the things above. I actually have a very strong opinion about doing drugs of any kind. I don’t like doing them. I don’t look down on people that do, but at the same time I don’t appreciate people that insist on being high all the time.
From time to time, I enjoy mixing a drink at the house, and once in a while, I enjoy going to a bar or night club with my wife. I have never been intoxicated at work, nor have I ever come to work hung over. I am a professinal at what I do, and take a great deal of pride in my work.
I just hope that Kelly can see past this small fact, and hire me for all the other things I take pride in.
